Vermentino

The Vermentino grape has unknown origins, it is thought that he was initially found in Spain and then spread in various regions of France, in Italy, all regions facing the Mediterranean see. In Italy the vermentino is found mainly in Liguria and Tuscany, and Sardinia.

The vermentino from Tuscany is easily recognisable and different from the one from Liguria and Sardinia. Many consider the Vermentino similar and predecessor of the Pigato from Liguria and Favorita from Piedmont.
