Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is not your usual rose and is certainly Abruzzo’s most iconic wine, a drink that farmers took to the fields with them as refreshment on hot summer days. Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is made with Montepulciano grapes and for this wine only the grapes are selected.
Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo has a dark colour compared to all other rose’, the wine has fruity nose, with notes of strawberry and pomegranate. Perfect balance, with enough structure, and a mineral finish. This is rose’ wine that excel with charcuterie.
The artisan who made it
Fattoria Nicodemi is located in Notaresco, in the heart of the Colline Teramane DOCG zone. The vineyards, at about 300 metres in altitude, protected by the Gran Sasso mountain and only 10 kilometres from the sea, enjoy an exceptional microclimate. The winery follows organic practices, without chemical herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers. Nicodemi is also the story of Alessandro and Elena, brother and sister, that took over in 2000 from their dad who followed the steps of their granddad. Nicodemi is the story of their family.
Fattoria Nicodemi philosophy is based on following the tradition using the most modern technologies. Their wines are proud voices of their unique terroir. They believe wine is made in the vineyards by nature, their role is only make the best us of what nature offers.
