Why we love it

An award winning Sauvignon from one of the best Italian winemakers.

This is a fantastic Sauvignon from Friuli Venezia Giulia, north east of Italy, from the Colli Orientali area made with manually harvested Sauvignon grapes from very old vines, a wine with an aromatic and delicate nose with scents of yellow pepper, peach and sage. On the palate, the wine is full, elegant with fruity flavours and a never ending finish.

Whilst the grape is Sauvignon, this is a Sauvignon like you never tasted before, a great wine perfect to pair risotti, rich fish dishes or just to sip with some semi fresh cheese.

The artisan who made it

Roberto Scubla is an amazing person who is very passionate about his wines. He took a big risk and left a safe job in the bank for an uncertain future amongst the vines and he has truly succeeded in what he was trying to achieve. His winery and vineyards are located in the Colli Orientali area of Friuli, north east of Italy, near the Slovenian border, where he grows native grapes like the Friulano and Verduzzo but also grapes that have found an ideal environment in Friuli such as the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon or the Sauvignon and all his wines have plenty of character and elegance.

Great company to deal with and a delicious liqueur. In fact it is my favourite orange flavoured cocktail ingredient!
