Lagrein is little know outside Trentino Alto Adige, even Italian know very little about this fantastic wine, fruity with notes of pepper, liquorice and dark chocolate.
On the palate is refreshing with tons of black fruit, blackberries, lively, very smooth. Lagrein can also be drunk slightly chilled.
The Lagrein finds its perfect companion in braised and grilled meat, game and mature cheeses
The artisan who made it
Located in Alto Adige, the norther area of the Trentino Alto Adige region, Tenuta Kornell is located amongst lush palm trees and ancient conifers, where the Mediterranean wind meets the dry winds coming from the north. The soils, rich in porphyry that quickly absorb heat during the day, creates the ideal weather conditions for growing vines.
Tenuta Kornell has been making wine for over 700 years and today like yesterday, Florian Brigl and his young team are united by a passion for viticulture, where people and nature work in harmony. Their philosophy is to produce unique, honest wines made with perfect grapes, native grapes, from Lagrein to Gewurztraminer.
