Why we love it
Not all rose wine are.. just rose.
Rose wines are often seen as fruity, easy to drink, boring, one dimension wine and many are. But there are a few rose’ wines that are much more than, they are interesting, they have more than one dimension, they have flavour, they are actually real wines.
This rose’ wine is one of them, a proper wine, just rose’. This wonderful rose wine is made using montepulciano grapes grown in Abruzzo, manually harvested, stemmed, macerated at a very low temperature and aged in stainless steel until the middle of January when the wine is bottled.
A rose wine with a soul, elegant on the nose and palate, dry, a rose wine made to accompany your summer lunches and dinners, a beautiful rose wine… not just like your usual one.
The artisan who made it
Nestled in the Abruzzo hills, facing the Adriatic sea, is the small town of Miglianico, is located the Ciavolich winery. Founded in the late 1950's, the Ciavolich winery is now jointly run by wife and husband Chiara and Gianluca. Abruzzo is largely known for the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, but they also grow native grapes such as Cococciola and Passerina, only found in the oldest wineries and in very small quantity.
