Franciacorta is an Italian classic method sparkling wine often considered the Italian response to the Champagne. Franciacorta is not the only Italian classic method, method that consist in the secondary fermentation taking place in the bottle, there are plenty being produced, but it is the only DOCG and certainly the most famous appellation.
The Franciacorta Zerum is a Franciacorta aged for at least 9 years in the La Valle cellar. Produced in very limited quantity and only in exceptional vintages, is made only with best grapes of Chardonnay and takes its name from the fact that no sugar is added, Zerum means “zero” in Latin, "pas dose'". This Franciacorta is an amazing sparkling wine, full of character, with an intense and very complex nose, elegant, delicate, for a very special meal or simply to be sipped and enjoyed on its own or with some cheese. A great sparkling wine.

La Valle winery, owned by the Pezzola family, is located in Rodengo Saiano in the heart of the picturesque hills of Franciacorta, just a few kilometres away from the beautiful Lake Iseo and Brescia in Lombardy. The winery was founded in 1990 by Eugenio and Giulia Pezzola and is currently run by their nephew, Stefano Camilucci. The Franciacorta is the Italian alternative to Champagne and the whole area enjoys a unique and rather extraordinary microclimate where they grow Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Nero. In 1993, the first three thousand bottles of the millésime (a few bottles of which are still jealously guarded) were produced.
